SMC Ladies Defeat Clinton JC
Spartanburg, SC - The SMC Lady Pioneers continued in winning ways in Region X by defeating Clinton Junior College 73-56 Thursday evening in Bridges Arena.
SMC took the lead midaway through the first half 28-26 and never gave it back and led 37-30 at the half.
In the second half, the Lady Pioneers turned up the heat and only allowed Clinton to score nine points in the first 10 minutes and took a commanding 21 point lead.
Whitley Smith (Lee Central HS) led SMC with 18 points and Teqa McNeal (Dreher HS) chipped in 13.
The Lady Pioneers(16-10, 6-0 Region X) return to action at home Monday to host Denmark Tech for Sophomore Night. Game time is 5:30 PM.
Spartanburg Methodist College has 14 intercollegiate teams that compete in Region X of the National Junior College Athletic Association, which includes colleges in the Carolinas, Virginia, and West Virginia.
The College is in its 100th academic year of providing a quality education to students in a Christian environment. More than 90 percent of SMC graduates continue their education at other institutions of higher learning.
