Lady Pioneers Continue Region 10 Dominance
Spartanburg, SC- The Lady Pioneers continued their Region 10 dominance by defeating Clinton Junior College, 74-45 Wednesday evening in Bridges Arena.
The Lady Pioneers (12-9, 3-0) have won three straight Region 10 contests and have won nine of their last 11 games.
Ashia Mitchell (Dorman HS) paced SMC with 15 points. Kimberly Henderson (Orangeburg Wilkinson HS) hit three 3-pointers and finished with 13 points.
The Lady Pioneers pulled away in the first half and took a 36-15 lead into the locker room.
Midway through the first half Henderson hit her third three pointer and the Lady Pioneers led 50-22.
SMC plays Feb. 1 at Tri County Tech and Feb. 3 at Denmark Tech.
Spartanburg Methodist College has 14 intercollegiate teams that compete in Region X of the National Junior College Athletic Association, which includes colleges in the Carolinas, Virginia, and West Virginia.
The College is in its 100th academic year of providing a quality education to students in a Christian environment. More than 90 percent of SMC graduates continue their education at other institutions of higher learning.
