Life University jumped out to a 26–9 lead after the first 10 minutes on its way to a 96–44 win over Spartanburg Methodist College women's basketball on Tuesday.
SMC (6–7) was led by 13-point performances from Halle Taylor and Destiny Middleton.
Life (9–5) placed four players in double figures in the win. Kenya Robinson led the way, making 11 of 15 shots from the field for 26 points while adding 13 rebounds to record a double-double. Emily Perez contributed 17 points on five 3-pointers, while Aniyah Offutt and Brianna Pope added 12 and 10 points, respectively.
Perez scored nine of her 17 points and Robinson added six of her 26 in the opening 10 minutes as the Eagles shot 40 percent from the field to build an early advantage.
SMC will be idle before resuming Appalachian Athletic Conference play on Saturday, Jan. 3, at Tennessee Wesleyan. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. in Athens, Tenn.
