Brookline, Mass. – A stifling defense effort to go along with four in double figures, the Spartanburg Methodist College women's basketball team defeated host Fisher College, 68-24 on Saturday afternoon.
The Pioneers were paced by a 13-point effort from Najah Gilliam, who was joined in double figures by JaiDah Liebert (11), Mia Hansen (10), Latavius Wilson (10).
The Falcons were led by a 10-point game from Ariana Ramos Cardona. Fisher, who was held without a point in the second quarter, shot just 18.9% from the field in the loss.
SMC managed to outrebound Fisher, 55-to-37 in the win. The Pioneers' Emiya Gallman had 11 rebounds to go along with eight points as SMC led from start to finish.
Next, the Pioneers will face Clinton College on Thursday, Feb. 13 at 5 p.m. at Bridges Arena.
