Brewington, Campbell Highlight SMC Volleyball’s AAC Honors; 15 Pioneers Earn Academic Recognition
SPARTANBURG, SC – The Appalachian Athletic Conference announced its volleyball postseason honors on Wednesday, with Spartanburg Methodist College standout Braelynn Brewington earning Second Team All-AAC recognition for her outstanding 2025 season.
Brewington, a sophomore middle blocker from Georgetown, S.C., has been a key member of the Pioneers' frontline. As SMC heads into this week's conference tournament, she ranks second on the team in blocks with 67 (0.66 blocks per set) and fourth in kills with 185 (1.83 kills per set).
Also recognized was senior Leilani Campbell of Florence, who earned a spot on the Champions of Character Team for exemplifying the NAIA's five core values both on and off the court.
In addition, Campbell and Brewington, along with 13 of their Pioneer teammates, were named to the All-Academic Team for maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 or higher: Aurora Aho, Rylee Anderson, Zoe Bass, Bailey Beck, Carter Bradshaw, Tristan Craine, Katherine James, Alexia Johnson, Rebekah Martin, Kendall Meinders, Brook Noe, Makinnley Smart, and Hana Vucinic.
The No. 8-seeded Pioneers will open play at the 2025 AAC Volleyball Tournament on Thursday when they face No. 9 seed Bluefield at 2 p.m. at the MeadowView Marriott Convention Center & Conference Resort in Kingsport, Tenn.
