SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Spartanburg Methodist College women's soccer team earned a hard-fought 0-0 draw against Columbia International University on Wednesday in Appalachian Athletic Conference play.
The Pioneers (2-2-2, 0-1-1 AAC) showcased a balanced attack, with five different players recording shots and three of them on target. The SMC defense stood strong under pressure, blocking back-to-back CIU chances in the 64th minute to preserve the shutout.
SMC will look to build on the result when they travel on Saturday to face Montreat College at 1 p.m.
