GAINESVILLE, Ga. – Ellen Odland scored two of Brenau's three first-half goals to lead the host Tigers to a 3–0 win over Spartanburg Methodist College women's soccer on Wednesday afternoon.
SMC (4-6-4, 2-5-3 AAC) fell behind early as Odland netted her first goal in the 18th minute. The Tigers then added two more in quick succession midway through the first half, scoring in the 32nd and 34th minutes.
Pioneers goalkeeper Ava Wilson faced 13 shots and recorded 10 saves in the loss.
Brenau (6-5-1, 4-4-1 AAC) was led by Odland's offensive performance, as she tallied goals in the 18th and 34th minutes. Goalkeeper Zyara Gonzalez-Galeano made six saves to secure her fifth shutout of the season.
Down 3–0, SMC continued to push forward, with Kamari Johnson and Makai Bowen each testing Gonzalez-Galeano in the 66th and 68th minutes, but both shots were saved.
The Pioneers return to action on Saturday, October 11, at 11 a.m. when they travel to Dayton, Tennessee, to face Bryan College.
