Pioneers Goalkeeper Ava Wilson Collects Weekly Conference Accolade

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – For the third time in her career—and the first time this season—sophomore goalkeeper Ava Wilson of the Spartanburg Methodist College women’s soccer team has earned weekly honors.

On Monday, the Appalachian Athletic Conference recognized Wilson for her standout performances in the Pioneers’ two matches last week. She recorded four saves in a 3-2 victory over Johnson and followed with a season-high 13 saves in a 0-0 draw against Pikeville.

Wilson and the Pioneers return to action on Wednesday in a doubleheader against Union Commonwealth at Nash Soccer Field. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
