COLUMBIA, SC – Host CIU led nearly from start to finish on its way to a 100-80 win over the Spartanburg Methodist College men's basketball team on Wednesday night.
The Pioneers (2-9, 1-5 AAC) took an early 3-2 lead on a Calvin Brown 3-pointer for their lone lead of the contest. Cameron Pulley had one of the best games of his young career as the freshman scored a team-best 14 points. He was joined in double figures by Musa Muriithi with 12 points, 11 from CJ Terrell, and 10 from Kennedy Aiken-Shannon.
Terrell continues to make a name for himself on the frontline as he pulled down 12 rebounds and blocked four shots in the loss. Another promising newcomer for the Pioneers was Zay Nunley, who had two points and five rebounds in a season-high 15 minutes of action.
The host Rams (9-5, 4-2 AAC) led for 39:13 of the contest as four different players scored in double figures on the way to the win.
