SMC Drops MId-Week Game to Milligan, 7-0
Three Milligan pitchers limited the potent SMC baseball lineup to just three hits, while the host Buffs' offense responded with 11 hits in a 7–0 win on Wednesday.
Spartanburg Methodist College (13–13) had just one runner reach scoring position—Elijah Franz, who recorded a two-out double in the second inning. Franz, along with Bryce Satterwhite and Matt Smith, accounted for the Pioneers' three hits.
(RV) Milligan (21–6) scored one run in each of the first two innings before adding five runs on three hits in the sixth inning to secure the win. Landon, Lutterman, Gaven Jones, and Cade Kalehuawehe each recorded two hits to lead the 11-hit attack, with Kalehuawehe driving in three runs. Starting pitcher Cainan Meyers improved to 2–0 on the season, allowing two hits and striking out four.
SMC will remain on the road next, traveling to Bluefield for a three-game series. The series begins with a single game on Friday, March 20 at 3 p.m.
