SMC Women's Track & Field Closes Regular Season with Record-Breaking Performances at Golden Bulls Invitational
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Spartanburg Methodist College women's track & field team closed out its regular season Friday at the 2026 Golden Bulls Invitational, using the meet as a final tune-up ahead of next week's Appalachian Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Despite temperatures climbing into the 90's, the Pioneers delivered a series of strong performances, highlighted by a record-setting effort in the opening event of the day. The 4x100-meter relay team of Carson Byrd, De'Nasia Robinson, Da'Sani Kinlaw, and Eva Sapp clocked a school-record time of 49.11 seconds.
In the field events, Mckensley Parks set a new SMC record in the shot put with a mark of 34-9. On the track, Robinson also lowered her AAC Championship qualifying time in the 100-meter dash, finishing in 12.52 seconds.
The Pioneers now turn their attention to the Appalachian Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships next week.
