SMC Beach Volleyball Goes 1-1 on Final Day of SMC Invitational
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Spartanburg Methodist College beach volleyball team split two matches on the final day of the SMC Invitational on Saturday. The Pioneers dropped a 5-0 decision to Truett McConnell and defeated Brenau, 4-1.
In the 4-1 win over Brenau, the No. 1 pair of Brantlie Price and Katherine James won in three sets, 21-17, 13-21, 15-11. The next victory for SMC came in straight sets, as Hana Vucinic and Makinnley Smart won 23-21, 21-15.
The third win of the day came from Layla VanAernem and Leilani Campbell, who earned a 21-10, 21-23, 15-7 victory. The final win was secured by the No. 5 duo of Tristan Craine and Arielle Deas, who posted a 21-12, 21-9 win.
