SMC Softball Places Five on CSC Academic All-District Team
SPARTANBURG, SC – Five members of the Spartanburg Methodist College softball team—Lydia Faulk, Maddie Handy, Bailey Kiser, Carson McCowan, and Kyla Quiles—were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team on Tuesday.
Faulk appeared in 33 games, batting .241 with 16 runs scored and 10 RBI in 2026.
Handy split time between first base and pitcher, batting .302 with 29 hits and 16 runs scored in 43 games. In the circle, she posted an 8-6 record with a 3.07 ERA over 70.2 innings pitched.
Kiser, a First Team All-Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) pitcher, led the Pioneers with 27 games pitched. She went 16-8 with a 1.98 ERA, recording 128 strikeouts across 152 innings.
McCowan started at shortstop in 46 of 47 games, batting .290 with 31 hits, including seven doubles, one triple, and one home run. She drove in 21 runs and scored 20 times.
Quiles made 21 pitching appearances, including seven starts, posting a 3-2 record with a 3.08 ERA over 50 innings while striking out 14 batters.
Faulk, Handy, and Kiser each earned CSC Academic All-District honors for the second time in their careers.
All five student-athletes appeared in every game and played key roles in helping SMC reach the Appalachian Athletic Conference Softball Tournament in its first year as an AAC member.
