Spartanburg Methodist Women’s Golf in Seventh After Opening Round at Island Pointe Intercollegiate
Knoxville, Tenn. - The Spartanburg Methodist College women's golf team is in seventh place after the opening round of the 2nd Annual Island Pointe Intercollegiate at Island Pointe Golf Club in Knoxville. The Pioneers shot a team round of 390 (+102). Olivet Nazarene leads the field after posting a 328 (+40).
Magnolia Miller of Huntington (IN) holds a four-stroke lead after firing a 75 (+3).
The Pioneers are led by Isabella Marz, who recorded seven pars in her opening round and finished with an 89 (+17), placing her in 13th. She is followed by Adeline Todd, who posted three pars and a first-round 92 (+20).
Next, Gracelyn Toler and Melanie Meredith are separated by one stroke and sit in 33rd (+32) and 35th (+33), respectively. Rounding out the SMC lineup is Tinsley McDaris, who posted a 119 (+47).
Friday's final round is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
