SMC Men's Golf Finishes Third at Falcon Shootout
The Spartanburg Methodist College men's golf team shot a final-round 301 at the Falcon Shootout, securing third-place honors. In Tuesday's final round, Lane Carr posted a 72 (+1), A.J. Bolin recorded a 73 (+2), Tucker Simon finished with a 77 (+6), Parker Harrigan carded a 79 (+8), and David Harrigan shot an 85 (+14).
Carr's performance moved him into second place overall with a 147 (+5, 75-72), earning him all-tournament honors. He recorded four birdies in the final round, including a blistering 32 on the front nine. Bolin also had four birdies in his final round, finishing with a 148 (+6, 75-73) to secure third-place honors.
Tucker Simon made a strong push, moving up 13 spots in the final round with a 159 (+17, 82-77). He recorded a birdie on No. 10. Parker Harrigan, the fourth golfer for SMC, finished with a 79 in the final round, recording birdies on No. 3 and No. 18. He totaled 160 (+18, 81-79) and placed 37th. Rounding out the SMC lineup, David Harrigan shot an 85 for a 36-hole total of 172 (+30, 87-85), finishing in 64th place.
Connor Key of Pfeiffer won the individual title by four strokes with a 143 (+1, 72-71). His efforts led the Falcons to the team title with a +25 (303-286).
