Pair of Pioneers Shoot Opening Rounds of 75 at Falcon Shootout

Thomasville, N.C. - Three Pioneers recorded a pair of birdies in Monday's opening round of the Pfeiffer Colonial Shootout to lead the Spartanburg Methodist College men's golf team to a share of fourth place after the opening round. The Pioneers posted a team score of 313 to share fourth place with Pfeiffer (B). The host Falcons lead the 14-team field with a 303. Connor Key of host Pfeiffer is the individual leader with a 73 (+1).

Teammates AJ Bolin and Lane Carr each shot a 75 (+4) to lead SMC and are in a tie for fourth in the individual race. Bolin recorded a birdie on No. 7 and No. 10, Carr had a birdie on No. 12 and No. 16. The third golfer for SMC, Parker Harrigan carded an 81 (+10) with birdies on No. 6 and No. 10. The fourth golfer for SMC was Tucker Simon, who shot an 82 (+11) and to round out the SMC lineup, David Harrigan, who had a birdie on No. 8 shot an 87 (+16).
