SMC Men's Golf Begins Play at Spring Golden Tiger Collegiate

Gainesville, Georgia - Led by an 82 in the first round by Lane Carr, the Spartanburg Methodist College men's golf team is in seventh place after the opeening round of the Spring Golden Tiger Collegiate Invite. The Pioneers shot a round of 339 with the Truett McConnell "B" team holding the team lead with a 310. Daley Williams has a two-stroke lead for the individiual race.

Carr recorded a 39 on the front nine to lead the Pioneers with a birdie on No. 9 en route to a round of 82. Next, Bryson Paris shot a round of 84 with a birdie on No. 2 followed by Tucker Simon, who posted a score of 86 with a birdie on No. 5. Parker Harrigan and Andrew Walker each shot a round of 87 (+15). Harrigan recorded a birdie on No. 17 during his round.
