Men’s Basketball Wins Big Over Anderson
SPARTANBURG, SC- The Spartanburg Methodist College Pioneers took home a 33-point win Thursday night over Anderson University's junior varsity team.
The Pioneers played a full 20 minutes in the first half of their last non-conference game of the season, to a commanding 52-32 lead.
"It was a great start. Our guys really came out focused and were determined after coming off a difficult loss last Friday to Catawba Valley," said coach Rob Burke.
The Pioneers gave up only 25 points total in the second half while stretching their margin.
"Darion Canty had another solid performance for us. He has led us in just about every way he can on and off the floor," said Burke.
The Pioneers look to get off to a 1-0 start as they open up Region X play against Brunswick Community College on Saturday at 3 PM.
