Win Over Denmark Tech Snaps Pioneers’ 3-Game Skid
SPARTANBURG, SC- The SMC Pioneers basketball team is headed into its last regular game of the season after having notched an at-home 76-72 victory Monday night over Denmark Tech.
Freshmen Chase Richey and DJ Brown led the charge for the Pioneers' outside shooting attack against Denmark, with the pair hitting seven three-pointers for the game.
The Pioneers stretched a halftime 36-33 lead to 10 points at nine minutes left. Freshman Michael Lowe put two clutch three-pointers in to take the win.
Sophomore Darion Canty led in scoring, putting 19 points on the board for the Pioneers.
The Pioneers (17-10, 6-5) finish their regular season Saturday at home against USC-Salkehatchie.
Spartanburg Methodist College is in its 99th year of providing quality education to students in a Christian environment. More than 90 percent of SMC graduates continue their education at other institutions of higher learning.
