Romeo Brown Secures Spot at NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships
Cleveland, Tenn. – At the Lee Last Chance meet, Spartanburg Methodist College sophomore Romeo Brown was the first collegiate runner across the finish line in the 100m, setting a school record with a time of 10.32 to secure a spot at the upcoming NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Brown's time is a new SMC school record and ranks as the ninth-fastest this season among NAIA competitors. The Newberry, S.C., native entered the meet with a season-best time of 10.53, which was the 48th-fastest in the NAIA.
Earlier this season, Brown also posted an NAIA "B" qualifying mark in the 200m dash with a time of 21.11, the 28th-fastest time in the NAIA this year.
He becomes the first male individual in school history to qualify for an NAIA Championship.
The 2025 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be held on the campus of Indiana Wesleyan University from May 21–23 in Marion, Indiana.
