Three PRs in the 1500m Run Lead SMC Men's Track and Field on Day One of the Montreat College Open
Montreat, N.C. – Three members of the Spartanburg Methodist College men's track and field team set personal records (PRs) in the 1500m run on the first day of the Montreat Open.
Ryan Hunter and Caleb Williams both achieved PRs in the event, finishing just one-hundredth of a second apart. Hunter crossed the line in 4:27.97, while Williams followed closely at 4:27.98, improving his previous best by two seconds.
Additionally, Calvin Kowalke recorded a PR with a time of 5:15.62, and Seth Mullen posted a season-best performance, finishing in 5:03.36.
In the field events, Javion Brannon secured ninth place in the long jump with a mark of 19-4.25 (5.90m).
The two-day event will resume on Saturday.
