SMC Dominates USC Lancaster
Spartanburg, SC – Freshman, Emily Tucker (Chapman HS)
scored two goals to lead the SMC Pioneers to a 3-0 victory over USC
Lancaster to improve to 2-0 for the season.
The Pioneers lead 1-0 at the half after Freshman, Candace Jones
(Ninety Six HS) scored an early goal in the first 10 minutes.
The Pioneers finished the game with 24 shots. Freshman
goalkeeper, Tori Waddell (Wade Hampton HS) earned the shutout.
Freshmen, Megan Lancaster (Boiling Springs HS) and Laura Weaver
(West Ashley HS) each had one assist.
The Pioneers play at USC Salkehatchie, Saturday, September
4th at 3:00pm.
Spartanburg Methodist College has 14 intercollegiate teams that
compete in Region X of the National Junior College Athletic
Association, which includes colleges in the Carolinas, Virginia and
West Virginia.
The College is in its 100th academic year of providing quality
education to students in a Christian environment this August. More
than 90 percent of SMC graduates continue their education at other
institutions of higher learning.
