Lady Pioneers Go 3-4 Against Patrick Henry
SPARTANBURG, SC- The Pioneer softball team continued their home stand over the weekend with two days of doubleheaders against Patrick Henry CC.
SMC won two run-ruled games on Saturday, 9-1 and 8-0, and split a doubleheader on Sunday with a 7-4 win and a 9-8 loss.
Jazmine Holliday continued her hot hitting by belting another homerun and raising her team-leading batting average to .456.
Ashira Dobison picked up three wins on the weekend.
"Ashira was excellent this weekend – [it was] by far her best performance of the year. I threw her more than I wanted to, but she was on so we kept her in there. We were very good defensively and put up 32 runs in the four-game set," said head coach Thad Fox.
The Lady Pioneers (10-8 Region X, 15-15 overall) take on Surry Community College at 2 pm Saturday April. 24 at SMC's Grant Softball Field.
