Former SMC Wrestler Wins NCAA DII Wrestling Title
OMAHA, Neb. – 2007 Spartanburg Methodist graduate and wrestling alum JJ Jackson has won the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division II Wrestling Championship in the 157-weight class, for Anderson University.
JJ Jackson attended SMC from 2005-2007 and transferred to Anderson University to continue his academic and wrestling career.
While at SMC, Jackson was a two time national qualifier in his weight class and a team captain.
"He was a very hard worker for SMC and a joy to coach. He was also an amazing team leader to his peers," said SMC head coach Robbie Higdon.
Spartanburg Methodist College is in its 99th year of providing quality education to students in a Christian environment. More than 90 percent of SMC graduates continue their education at other institutions of higher learning.
