Lady Pioneers Lose At Home to Roane State
SPARTANBURG, SC- The Spartanburg Methodist College Lady Pioneers had a tough 66-54 home court loss to Roane State College Monday night
With several key players out due to injuries, both the Pioneers offense and defense struggled to gain momentum and manage the ball. SMC found themselves down 35-27 at the end of the first half.
The second half was a similar situation as the first half and the Pioneers had a hard time getting anything to fall and keep Roane State at bay.
After a competitive effort from the Pioneers, they fell a little short, losing 66-54.
"The girls competed well and showed a lot of heart, but they just couldn't overcome that eight to 10-point deficit. Coming into the game Roane State was 11-2, so they were a great team for our girls to test their abilities against," said SMC athletic director Mark Perdue.
The Lady Pioneers are now 2-1 in Region X and 8-10 overall.
Their next home game is this Thursday Jan. 14th at 6 pm against Denmark Technical College.
