Signing Day
Left to Right- KC Shue (UNC-Wilmington) Morgan Cox (Limestone College), Brooke Barnhill (University of South Carolina) and Bailey Smith (Anderson University)
Signing day is a very special time for all athletes that have decided their college choice. Today was more than special for three SMC Pioneer softball players as they inked to their future homes at a small signing ceremony Wednesday afternoon in Camak Auditorium.
KC Shue a catcher/outfielder from Concord, NC will continue her playing career at University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
Morgan Cox a utility player from Simpsonville, SC will become a Saint and finish her two years of eligibility for Limestone College in Gaffney, SC.
Brooke Barnhill a speedy left-handed hitting outfielder will fullfill her dream and become a Gamecock and compete for the University of South Carolina in 2013.
Bailey Smith from Shelby, NC is a right handed pitcher and hitter will continue her career at Anderson University.
"Everyday a player gets to live their dream is very special, but today is just a little more special. This is my first recruiting class at SMC and to see three of them get to continue their careers at schools of their choice is just an awesome feeling said head coach Thad Fox."
"We had a lot of players get opportunities last season and we will have many more sign as the year progresses but to have a few get the chance to sign early takes a ton of pressure of the players, families, and our coaches."
"I am very proud of these three players, our entire program, and the Spartanburg Methodist College family. Without the support of everyone here on campus we couldn't be where we are. Thank you for your support."
