Lady Pioneers pick up sixth shut out on the year.
If the other team doesn't score then you can't lose.. The Pioneer women's soccer team has adapted that attitude and shut out six of their seven opponents this season.
Seven different Pioneers found the back of the net today led by Janell Cash with two goals. Lauren Swanson had a goal and two assists, Kayla Bishop added one goal and one assist. Elizabeth Sugden also added a goal. Mary Bouyea and Shy Gordon chipped in an assist each.
Sophomore Jasmine Turner scored her first collegiate goal as did Kristin Williams and Kasey Parris. "Great team moments are what every team strives for during a season, today was one of those but inside the team moments are individual performances. Obviously we had some great individual performances today. Seeing Jasmine Turner knock in her first collegiate goal was very special. She walked on to the team last year and has continued to get better. Kasey Parris and Kristin Williams each delivering their first goal was very special too". quoted Head Coach Dan Keneally.
SMC out shot Tri-County 23-0 and had six corners on the evening.
Up next for the Lady Pioneers is a Region X matchup with Cape Fear CC (5-0) at home. Kickoff is 2pm
