Rob Sater enters his first season at the helm of the SMC Pioneer Wrestling squad. Sater orginally served as Head Coach of the Boiling Springs High School Wrestling Team for the lst three seasons. Sate was the 2009 Herald Journal Coach of the Year, 2010 and 2011 County Wrestling Tournament Champions (2010 was the 1st in school history).

Sater (66-13 dual meet record) had 37 Upper-State qualifiers during his three years as head coach at BSHS. He coached five of the schools seven South Carolina All-State Wrestlers. He also had five freestlye/Greco national qualifiers.

Sater attended Division 1 Cleveland State University in Cleveland, Ohio for two years before transferring to and graduating with a BA in English from Limestone for his final two years. He wrestled at Limestone and was team captain for each year voted on by his teammates.

Sater still teaches English at BSHS and is married to Hayley Sater who also teaches English at Boiling Springs High School. They have a daughter named Kinley.
