Bobby Cox

Bobby Cox is a SMC alumnus who is in his second year as an
assistant coach with the Lady Pioneers golf team.
Cox, a graduate of Landrum High School and Cecils Business College,
played on the SMC men's golf team both his years at SMC and
graduated in 1978. He turrned pro that same year.
He has been a head pro at Hampton County Country Club, Lan Yair
Country Club and Somerset Country Club.
Cox has also built several golf courses, included the Links O'
Tryon, which he opened in Campobello, SC in 1988 and sold in 1990.
He also built Myrtle Beach West in 1991.
He was a member of the South African Tour from 1992-1994 and a
Senrior Tour qualifier from 1998-2000.
Having retired in 2005, Cox enjoys golfing, flying, and life. He is
a member of Abner Creek Baptist Church. Cox is also a U.S. Army air
veteran, having served from 1969-1972 including a tour in
Vietnam.
