Lady Pioneers Finish Region X Schedule Undefeated

Pendleton, SC - The Lady Pioneers completed their 2010-11 Region X schedule undefeated (9-0) and will be the number one seed heading to the Region X Tournament this weekend.

Deidre Price (Aiken HS) led the Lady Pioneers with 20 points and 9 rebounds in the 76-44 victory.

Tequila McNeal (Dreher HS) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds as the Lady Pioneers improved to 19-10 to finish the regular season.

SMC will play Denmark Tech in the first round of the Region X tournament at 8 pm held at Voorhees College and hosted by Denmark Tech.

SMC and Denmark have played three times this season with Lady Pioneers winning all three contest, 72-35, 89-43, and 94-59.

Spartanburg Methodist College has 14 intercollegiate teams that compete in Region X of the National Junior College Athletic Association, which includes colleges in the Carolinas, Virginia, and West Virginia.

The College is in its 100th academic year of providing a quality education to students in a Christian environment. More than 90 percent of SMC graduates continue their education at other institutions of higher learning.
