SMC picks up solid road win

SMC traveled to Hickory, NC to take on Catawba Valley CC in a non-region matchup on Wednesday night. SMC held on late to take the road victory 68-65 over a very talented CVCC squad. 

"I am not sure that we had our A game offensively tonight. A lot of that had to do with Catawba Valleys defense." said head coach Jeff Brookman. "Any win on the road is a good win. The guys never gave up and finished the game off strong."

Mario Pendarvis had 18 points , Dajohn Rowland -12 points, Travis Black had 11 and Jalen Nesbitt added 9.

The Pioneers, who have won 8 straight games, next travel to Davidson Community College to take on Suny Delhi CC on Saturday and Northern Virginia CC on Sunday.
