JJ Joye is a 2001 graduate of Manning High School and a 2009 graduate of the University of South Carolina, earning a BA degree in Early Childhood Education through USC Upstate via satellite..
In 2005, Joye started his coaching career as an assistant for Manning High School before being named the Head Coach for the J.V. squad the following year. He has also founded the “Boys of Summer”, a training camp which provides individual instruction for youth players.
Joye played his collegiate baseball at USC Salkehatchie under Joe Baxter. While prepping at Manning, he also played summer baseball for the highly-regarded Diamond Devils organization based in Charleston. He has since rejoined the Diamond Devils as a coach, helping lead the 17’s to two national titles in the summer of 2008.
Joye began his college coaching career in 2007 at the University of South Carolina Sumter serving as the outfielders coach and assisting with hitting instruction and recruiting. He spent the summer of 2010 as an assistant coach with the Thomasville Hi-Toms and the summer of 2011 as an assistant coach with the Columbia Blowfish, both of the Coastal Plain summer collegiate league.
Joye will work with the Pioneer infielders and assist in recruiting and conditioning.
