Congrats SMC SOFTBALL for earning the Regular Season Region X Championship with a day one sweep of Aiken Tech. SMC won game one 4-3 in a 14 inning battle. Ali Ruppe earned the win in relief of starter Bailey Smith who pitched into the 10th inning. Brooke Barnhill hit her first collegiate homerun in the 5th inning.
The Pioneers rallied for 4 runs in the bottom of the 6th in game two. Ruppe started and went three innings then gave way for Chelsea Smith who worked three scoreless innings to earn the win. Bailey Smith pitched a perfect 7th inning for the save. The Pioneers move to 20-2 in Region play.
