Pioneers prepare for Louisburg College

SMC looks to get back on track this weekend against the Hurricanes of Louisburg College. The Pioneers dropped four of six games to the Hurricanes last year but defeated them in the losers bracket finals on Championship Sunday. "Louisburg is loaded again and with a new coach, they are looking stay on the current roll they have been on." LC swept USC Sumter this past weekend and took two games from Pitt CC on Wednesday. They currently sit at 8-2 in Region X play.
The Pioneers are coming off of a couple losses to Walters State (22-1) on Wednesday. (2-1 & 3-0). "We didn't hit it well at Walters State and we also didn't execute as we should've on offense or defense." Our pitching was spot on again and hopefully that will carry us until our offense gets rolling again."
Louisburg is led by left hander Jamie Hockaday. Hockaday is sporting a sub 2.00 era and has hit multiple homeruns on the year. " Jamie is their heartbeat and a very good player.
