Pioneers look to stay unbeaten in Region X play
Coming off of six dominating wins this past weekend, the Pioneers look to extend their Region X record to 6-0. A much improved USC-Lancaster team will look to keep that from happening. Lancaster finished in 8th place last season and were defeated by SMC five times last year but things look a little different this year. "The Lancers are much improved, it doesn't matter however as we have taken the approach that every team can beat us and we will approach this just like we would a game agains Pitt, Aiken, Louisburg, Sumter or anyone."
Bailey Smith (6-2 .082 era) , Alison Ruppe (5-3), Chelsea Smith (2-0) and Casey Whitaker will take care of the pitching for the weekend with Bailey getting the start in game one and Ali getting the game two start.
SMC is hitting .367 as a team and a slugging percentage of .507.
The Pioneers have five players hitting over .400 led by Alex Bettis (.421). Lacy Smith leads the Pioneers in homeruns (3) and runs batted in (21)
Hopefully we can continue playing at a high level and just get better everyday.
