SPARTANBURG, SC- Spartanburg Methodist College returned to Bridges Arena on Wednesday night to take on Patrick Henry Community College, after a sluggish start by both teams the Pioneers (5-1) went on a 14-0 run over a five minute span to break open a 6-6 tie with the Patriots. The Pioneers also went on a 9-2 run late in the first half to take a commanding 43-24 lead.
The second half was more of the same for SMC on the offensive end putting up 45 points behind 22 of 26 from the free throw line for the game. Solid transition offense led by sophomore Nate Motley's 23 points and Brannon Dark's 16 helped the Pioneers to a 88-64 win.
SMC will return to action on Saturday evening at 6:00pm as they host the East Georgia State Bobcats. Come out and catch the Pioneer Women's team at 4:00 followed by the 2014 SMC Homecoming King and Queen announcement.
