Ronell Crockett scored 18 points as the fifth-ranked Pioneers downed Clinton Junior College 67-63 to remain undefeated. SMC led 40-28 at the half before Clinton made a strong run in the second half. The Pioneers got stops on the defensive end and brought home a big road win in Region X play (2-0).
Travis Black added 16 points and six assists for SMC (17-0).
