Men’s Basketball Adds 12 for 2011-2012 Campaign
Head men's basketball coach, Jeff Brookman, has announced the addition of 12 student athletes to the 2011-12 men's basketball roster.
High school standouts Travis Black (Spartanburg Christian Acad/Prep), Ben Johnson (Boiling Springs HS), Brian Kidd (Chapin HS), Da'john Rowland (Chesnee HS), Kelsey Terry (Westside HS), Ronell Crockett (TL Hannah HS), Jalen Nesbitt (Chapman HS), Marshall McClary (St. James HS), Matt Harrison (Spartanburg Christian Acad.), and Jamel Prioleau (James Island HS) will join NJCAA Junior College transfers Cory Rush (Ranger College/Andrews HS) and Terell Magazine (New Mexico JC/CA Johnson HS) as the newcomers to the 2011-2012 Pioneers.
"I am very excited about this year's recruiting class," said Brookman. "I feel like we have added a lot of length and athleticism to the guard spot as well as some size and athleticism inside. Not only will these student-athletes contribute on the court, but they will also be great additions to our campus community. They are all great kids. I am looking forward to working with all of them on and off the basketball court"
The 12 newcomers will join six returnees, including 2010-2011 2nd Team All-Region X selection Mario Pendarvis, as the Pioneers look to improve on their 19-11 record from a year ago.
