Men's Hoops Wins Big on the Road
Morristown, TN - The Pioneers trailed at halftime by three points to Walters State College but used a second half surge Tuesday night to overtake the Senators and win 77-62.
Sophomores Tim Budd (Fort Dorchester HS) and DJ Glover (Calhoun County HS) each scored 21 points to lead the second half surge for the Pioneers. Glover also finished the game with nine rebounds.
Bennie Mozingo (Mauldin HS) added 12 points to help the Pioneers improve to 4-2 on the year.
"This was a huge road win for us", states Jeff Brookman, Pioneer head coach.
"Anytime you go on the road and play a quality team like Walters State (1-2) and win it really gives the team confidence," he adds.
The Pioneers will play at Erskine Thursday, November 18 before returning home to play Rockingham Community College at 7 pm, Monday, Nov. 22.
