Pioneers Tame Cobras
SPARTANBURG, SC – The Pioneers got a big win on their home court Wednesday night over Caldwell Community College.
SMC started the game by luring the Caldwell CC Cobras to the perimeter as DJ Brown (Wren HS) hit three early deep 3-point shots.
As the Cobras guarded the outside shot, the Pioneers started feeding Tim Budd (Fort Dorchester HS) inside as he collected 15 points to lead the Pioneers to an 87-57 win.
Brown finished the game with 12 points as the Pioneers improved to 8-3.
CJ Gleaton (Pendleton HS) had 10 high flying points on dunks to ignite the Bridges Arena crowd.
The Pioneers travel to Erskine College on Thursday to play their JV team.
Spartanburg Methodist College has 14 intercollegiate teams that compete in Region X of the National Junior College Athletic Association, which includes colleges in the Carolinas, Virginia, and West Virginia.
The College is in its 100th academic year of providing a quality education to students in a Christian environment. More than 90 percent of SMC graduates continue their education at other institutions of higher learning.
