After a shocking sweep last weekend to the hands of USC Lancaster, SMC needed to respond and they did just that today taking two games from Pitt CC (7-6 and 9-4).
Game one
SMC held a solid lead in game one before Pitt responded with a couple strong innings of their own. It would take a walkoff bomb by Bruce Caldwell to win it for SMC. Hunter Rice picked up the win for the Pioneers.
Game two ended with the Pioneers taking a 9-4 win with Cody Mincey picking up the win on the mound.
The Pioneers improve to 2-4 in Region X play and 19-6 overall. The Pitt-SMC series will resume Sunday @ 1:00pm.
