Korrinn Burgess begins her first season with the Spartanburg Methodist College volleyball program taking over for departed coach Susie Williams. Williams was 35-36 in her three years at the helm of the Pioneer volleyball program.

Burgess comes from Converse College where she has recently worked as an admissions counselor. Prior to Converse, Burgess served as assistant coach/recruiting coordinator for the Clemson Tigers volleyball program. The native of Lake Benton, MN helped lead the Tigers to a record of 95-34 in four seasons.  During the 2007 season, the Tigers finished 29-4, won an ACC Championship with a record-tying 21-1 conference record, and made it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.  The Tigers also made the NCAA Tournament in 2008 and 2009. 

During her tenure with the Tigers, Burgess handled the majority of the staff's recruiting efforts, maintaining a database of prospective student-athletes and evaluating their skills and fit with the team's needs. Burgess also planned a recruit's official visit that included arranging meetings with various athletic administrators, academic advisors and university faculty. Additionally, her office responsibilities involved opponent scouting and breaking down game film, areas where her background in computer systems has proven advantageous.

Assigned primarily to Clemson's outside hitters, Burgess coached Jeannette Abbott and Lia Proctor in 2007, helping Abbott earn her third all-conference honor. Abbott was also named honorable mention all-region after posting 408 kills for the year. Burgess worked with Proctor to improve her hitting percentage from her freshman figure by over .100 points to a .231 mark. Proctor ranked third on the team with 315 kills, up from 234 in 2006.

The 2006 squad finished at 20-10 and third in the ACC at 15-7. Burgess coached Abbott to honorable mention All-America status that year, as Abbott posted a team-best 497 kills and led the ACC with a 4.40 kills per game average. The then-sophomore outside hitter set a program record with 1,405 total attempts, while bettering her hitting percentage by nearly 20 points. Abbott earned first-team All-ACC and AVCA All-Region accolades for the season.

Before arriving at Clemson, Burgess spent the 2004 and 2005 seasons as a volunteer assistant coach with the University of Kansas volleyball team. She helped lead the Jayhawks to NCAA Tournament appearances both years and a 34-27 combined record.

Prior to her experience at Kansas, Burgess was an assistant volleyball coach at Allen County Community College in Iola, KS. In her one year with the program, the Lady Red Devils reached the Final Four of the Region VI Tournament. Also in 2003, four student-athletes were named to the All-Conference team and two earned All-Region honors. Burgess also served as Assistant Director of Student Activities while at Allen County.

Burgess was a double major at Dakota State University in Madison, SD, earning degrees in Business Administration and Computer Information Systems in May of 2003. She also played two seasons of volleyball at Dakota State and was a DAC-10 Scholar Athlete before being sidelined with an injury.

She was also a member of the Captain's Council, a group of student-athletes used as liaisons between teams and athletic directors, and the Center of Excellence, a program for students who demonstrate superior academic performance and exhibit leadership potential.

While completing her undergraduate coursework, Burgess was a student-assistant coach on the Trojan staff that took the squad to its first DAC-10 playoff appearance. Her primary responsibilities included player development and recruiting, as well as assisting with summer camps.

Burgess earned a Master of Science in Education at the University of Kansas in May of 2006.

Coach Burgess  currently coaches for United Performance Volleyball Club out of Greenville, SC. She resides in Greer, SC with her husband Greg, who is the Head Groundskeeper at Fluor Field - home of the Greenville Drive.
