Mansel and Cantrell lead SMC at Montreat Invitational

Chandler Mansel and Brooke Cantrell finished second and third respectively to lead the SMC Lady Pioneers to a 2^nd place finish in the Spring Montreat College Invitational. NCAA Division 2 school Brevard College won the event by 17 shots over Spartanburg Methodist College. SMC finished ahead of Montreat, Greensboro College, and Hiwassee College in the event held at Glen Cannon Country Club in Pisgah Forest, NC. Alice Klochkova from Brevard College won the individual format of the tournament. SMC returns to play at the Tusculum College Spring Invitational April 2-3.

Day One- 

Chandler Mansel posted an 88  on a cold and rainy day at Glen Cannon Country Club in Pisgah Forest, NC and currently sits in 2^nd place behind Alisiya Klochkova of Brevard College. Mansel had a front nine of 45 and finished strong with a 43 to post her 88. The weather conditions wreaked havoc on all players as the weather turned colder and windier throughout the day. SMC sits in 2^nd place in the team competition  and is 18 shots behind leader Brevard College and ahead of host Montreat College and Greensboro College. Behind Mansel representing SMC are Brooke Cantrell, Sarah Hunter, and Elizabeth Pearson. Day 2 action for SMC is set to begin with the first tee time at 11:58.
