Briana Clark selected to lead Lady Pioneers

Briana Clark (Morganton, NC) has been chosen to lead the Lady Pioneer basketball squad and replace former coach Mellissa Baker who left for the same position at Bluefield College in Virgina.

Clark, comes to Spartanburg Methodist College from Freedom High School where she served last season as an assistant coach at her alma mater. Previously, Clark spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Montreat College and two seasons at Brevard College.

"I'm very excited about the opportunity given to me here at Spartanburg Methodist. I would like to thank President Dr. Keith, VP- Mr. Philbeck, and Athletic Director Tim Wallace for chosing me to lead the Lady Pioneer program. I look forward to meeting my players and working with everyone here at SMC." 

Clark played  basketball for two seasons at Converse College prior to transferring to Brevard College where she was named team captain for her junior and senior seasons and was a two-time winner of the Leadership Award.

Briana attended Freedom High School in Morganton, NC where she was a member of the 2002 NCHSAA 4A State Championship team.

Coach Clark graduated from Brevard College in 2007, with a Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science. She is a member of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association, and will reside here in Spartanburg.
